Germans, Spaniards Act More Free than Brittan, France
So, France and Brittan is all for Socialism. They want to increase government spending past what they can afford and attempt to stimulate Europe’s economy. The same plan Obama used that failed. The same plan FDR used in the 1930’s that failed.
Germany and Spain have said no. They don’t back this plan. Merckel believes the market can stabilize itself. That sounds like free market principles to me?
Now, this is some historic irony. In the 1940s, Hitler ruled Germany, and Franco ruled Spain. They were fascists and had Socialist economies. Now, it is 2009 and Germany and Spain support free market principles by saying no to a huge global Socialist movement in Europe and the United States.
All we need now is for China and Russia to warn that this Socialist road that the U.S., Brittan, and France want to try is a bad idea to complete this paradox.
Oh that’s right, they already did!
Again, I am looking for that lost girl in a blue dress and tardy rabbit to lead me back to reality.
Here is the story from Times Online:
GORDON BROWN’S carefully laid plans for a G20 deal on worldwide tax cuts have been scuppered by an eve-of-summit ambush by European leaders.
Angela Merkel, the German chancellor, last night led the assault on the prime minister’s “global new deal” for a $2 trillion-plus fiscal stimulus to end the recession.
“I will not let anyone tell me that we must spend more money,” she said.
The Spanish finance minister, Pedro Solbes, also dismissed new cash being pledged at Thursday’s London summit.
“In these conditions I and the rest of my colleagues from the eurozone believe there is no room for new fiscal stimulus plans,” he said.
Nicolas Sarkozy, the French president, has insisted that “radical reform” of capitalism is more important than tax cutting.
The attacks on Brown’s ambitions for the G20 to inject more money into the world economy come at the end of a week where the prime minister has travelled to three continents to build support for his proposals.
The likely deadlock at this week’s meeting will kill any remaining hope that Alistair Darling’s April 22 budget will offer significant tax cuts.
The assault by European Union leaders also represents a defeat for President Barack Obama, who is desperate for other big economies to copy his $800 billion stimulus plan.
“There will be a very long communiqué, but there won’t be much in it,” said a Washington economist.
Adding to the disarray, a draft of the agreement Brown hopes to secure was leaked to a German news magazine, prompting suggestions of “dirty tricks” by Berlin.
The draft stated that Britain wanted a “$2 trillion” global fiscal stimulus. However, the figure appeared only in brackets, indicating agreement on the package had yet to be reached.
The stimulus would boost world growth by 2% and employment by 19m, the draft said. The rest of the document was mainly general pledges.
“We believe that an open world economy, based on the principles of the market, effective regulation and strong global institutions, can ensure sustainable globalisation with rising well-being for all,” it said.
A No 10 source expressed “disappointment” at the leak and insisted the $2 trillion figure was not new money but an expression of the total tax and spending packages already pledged by G20 members.
Privately, government officials admit that no further fiscal stimulus will be announced this week, although there will be a $250 billion package for the International Monetary Fund to help rescue struggling poor nations.
Lord Mandelson, the business secretary, said he sympathised with the concerns of demonstrators planning to disrupt the London summit. “There is understandable frustration and some anger. The global economic systems has stalled and what we have got to do is get it started.”
George Osborne, the shadow chancellor, yesterday warned Brown against further tax cuts in the budget. “When it comes to your plans for a second fiscal stimulus, I say this Gordon Brown: enough is enough,” he said in a speech. “We will not let you play roulette with the public finances yet again.”
UK officials have not given up on the idea there could be agreement on a fresh boost for the world economy later in the year. “It is likely that there will be another heads of government meeting probably in Asia in the autumn,” said an official.
“This will be the forum where the next round of stimulus will be discussed.”
Brown still hopes to establish the IMF as an informal referee for international tax cuts. The plan is that the Washington-based body could advise on the timing of any future cuts.
Merkel’s criticism drew an angry response from Labour MPs. Denis MacShane, the former Europe minister, said: “Who does Mrs Merkel think is going to buy Mercedes and BMWs if she . . . says putting demand into the economy is a bad thing?” Another Labour MP said: “One has to ask who had something to gain from the leak of the communiqué. This feels like a dirty trick.”
There are growing fears that protests at the summit venue, the ExCeL centre in London’s Docklands could be marred by violence. Scotland Yard will be deploying specialist officers trained to use 50,000-volt Taser stun guns.

Stimulus Money Held Back by States
On NewsMax.com, the story “Stimulus Red Tape Tying States in Knots,” explains the red tape are running into trying to allocate the stimulus funds. This exemplifies why the government is not efficient and cannot do anything quickly. This shows how the government is the problem and not solving the problem.
The following issues are in the story:
“As states scramble to understand the stimulus, delays are blamed on those who don't want to use all the money and those who are trying to build budgets around it. Clashes over how to spend discretionary money in the stimulus could bog things down even more, especially in 22 states where party control over state government is split:
In Michigan, House Democrats fear that a special appropriations subcommittee set up by Senate Republicans to oversee stimulus spending is a ploy to drag things out. Republicans say they want to make sure spending is done wisely.
In Missouri, the GOP-controlled Legislature and Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon disagree on how extensively to use stimulus money. Nixon proposed to sprinkle it throughout the budget, but some Republicans want to wait and spend much of the stimulus money through a separate bill focused on one-time uses such as construction projects or a tax rebate.
In California, Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Democrats who control the legislature both want to tap as much of the federal recovery kitty as they can get. The state is in line for at least $31.5 billion.
But Democrats in California are still negotiating with their GOP counterparts over fine-print legislative changes needed to bring in federal cash. The state must undo Medicaid eligibility changes and expand its wastewater treatment program. Republicans worry about giving unemployment checks to more people when the federal government is already covering the state's unemployment costs.”
Now, if the government had given people tax cuts or just written checks directly to reasonable, qualified people, such as $100,000. First, it would be more fiscal responsible than what was done. It would have been cheaper and without all the earmarks and wasteful projects. The money would be used more efficient than this political red tape mess. We would have the money faster and used in our economy faster. The economy would recover faster.
But, that makes too much sense. So, the states are now going to argue on how to spend the money and slow down the process even further. The big government bureaucracy is going to waste more of the money in bureaucracies where most our money is usually wasted. So, whatever little and temporary help the stimulus will give the economy is lessened even further with bureaucracies and political squabbling.

The Democratic Crack up
Now, there are more. Some Democrats are finding it harder to follow Obama down the road he is going, wherever it is taking them. On the Politico, Senator Byrd (D-WV) calls Obama policies and power grab and possibly unconstitutional. Also, the Democratic Governor Bredesen of Tennessee is following the lead of Republican Governors Jindal and Sanford and may not accept some of the stimulus money for the SAME reasons. That the bill permanently changes their unemployment programs and causes deficits and forces the states to raise taxes later.
So, more and more politicians, especially ones who have a conscious or want to get re-elected, are beginning to jump ship. They are seeing what Conservatives saw before the election. That Obama is clueless or taking the country down the wrong road. Either way, these Democrats cannot stay by his side and more will be joining the dissenters.
Our voices are being heard and we need to keep it up.

Rendell vs. Sanford, Sanford Wins Hands Down
The key point that was made by Sanford was that the unemployment funds would come into the state to assist their current needs, but when the funds would lapse in two years, they would be left with a huge deficit in their unemployment program. It would force them to raise taxes or cut programs elsewhere.
To clarify, what was not made clear on Fox, but Governor Bobby Jindal made clear on Meet the Press, is that the unemployment benefits provision in the Stimulus Bill forces the states that take the money to change their benefits program permanently. Therefore, as Sanford said, after the stimulus funds run out the state is left with the deficit that they need to cover.
Sanford said he would not do that to his state or constituents—a smart, fiscally conservative thing to do. Rindell on the other hand, said, “ he did not care.” Yes, he said he did care about the deficits or the future. All he was worried about was about the here and now. He doesn’t have a plan on how to handle the deficit in the future. Spoken like a true Liberal.
Hey, Democrats, a little secret you need to know. The reason why your states, like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Kansas to name just a few, are in financial emergencies is that you did not worry about the future deficits and did not plan for the future.
Sanford cleaned Granholm’s clock as well. He was impressive in how he explained his fiscal conservative principles. It was great to hear him explain everything he was asked in way anyone could understand it, even Granholm, who was obviously upset by his clear explanations.
Sanford easily made Rindell and Granholm look particularly uniformed and extremely Liberal. Good for him.

Pelosi is Worried about Deficits NOW?
They had the “Spendulous Bill” and it’s over $16 billion dollars in pork to cut last week. They could have managed the deficit then. You don’t pass the bill and then say you want to control deficits and spending. Common sense dictates this is backwards. You pass a fiscal responsible bill in the first place. Pelosi has to be joking, but sadly she isn’t.
She says in the letter:
"As our nation continues to confront severe budget deficits as a result of unsound economic policy and lax regulation over the last eight years, it is essential that, as we advance our priorities, House Committees also conduct rigorous oversight of all aspects of federal spending and government operations to help achieve deficit reduction and long-term fiscal responsibility.” –CNS News
Last eight years! What about last week! What about the last two years you were in control of Congress! First, hearing tax and spend Liberals lecturing about fiscal responsibility is such intelligential dishonesty and hypocrisy, especially after last week. Next, the blaming Bush option was over when he left office. You cannot blame him anymore.
Your President is running the show now and he is responsible for this whole thing. Since Obama became President, the economy has gotten considerably worse. Look at how far the Dow Jones has plummeted since Obama took office. The stock market is off nearly 10% from the day before the inauguration, or more than 800 points on the Dow Jones Industrial Average. He has talked down the economy and passed legislation. The results are worse than when he started. He would have been better to do nothing and say nothing. We would have been much better off.
Notice that budget cuts, cutting of wasteful, governmental programs, and shrinking of government is not mentioned. Well…as least she was honest about that.

NY Post cartoon offensive? What do you think?

Are you offended? Sharpton and his ilk are to no one’s surpise.
Now, remember the cartoons of Condi Rice and Justice Thomas. There weren’t any picketers then. Remember the cartoons of Bush and Cheney. The list goes on of disrespectful cartoons. There wasn’t any uproar then.
It really doesn't matter to Liberals but if they think this refers to Obama, one problem. Obama did not write the Stimulus Bill. The Congressional Democrats and Pelosi did and they are "monkeys."

Obama's Great Welfare State
Well… there is the regressive welfare in the bill, also. On Flopping Aces, they explain what has changed in more detail. Briefly, the bill eliminated the reforms that the Gingrich Congress did the 90s. The reforms the American people demanded and the Conservatives promised and delivered are GONE.
So, states now get incentives for everyone they add to the welfare rolls. Also, the incentive for having more children has returned along with other regression of the welfare reforms. It is an abomination to the American dream that the government offers incentives to receive entitlements from the government. It creates a class of non-producers that doesn’t generate wealth for the society or themselves. It makes an entire class slaves to the State.
It is exactly what the Liberals and Obama want to do. First, they want to make it impossible for anyone to cut taxes and limit the government in the future. By creating QUADTRILLIONS in debt, no one can cut taxes and be fiscal responsible; therefore limiting governmental entitlements and programs will be impossible. The government’s power will be entrenched in our lives.
Then, by expanding the entitlements and benefits from the government, the Democrats can buy the votes of an entire class of people. The enslavement of these people guarantees and cements their power for a generation, as FDR’s programs did in the 1930s. It is irrelevant if the plan betters America. It is all about their power and keeping it at all costs—even at the cost of freedom, liberty, and America’s future.
The problem is that they don’t think enslaving the lower class and doling out taxpayers dollars to the less fortunate is bad for them or America. They call it compassion and charity. Conservatives and Libertarians and the Founders would call it theft and Socialism. They don’t understand that eventually the wealth runs out. The wealthy will eventually become poor or they simply leave. Look at Hungry, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Romania, West Germany, U.S.S.R and countless others of the past, Read Atlas Shrugged.
And, they call themselves progressives. Quite regressive, isn’t it?
So, Obama’s grand plan with the “Spendulous” bill is to create such great debt that no one can cut taxes and reduce the government’s power again. Then, fund his programs. Finally, he will grow government programs to offer entitlements to so many people that the Democrats will have a voting class for years, entrenching their power. After that, they will be able to do anything they want politically and still get votes, because no one would vote against the Democrats who would have gave them everything they have and could take it away.
Hello, Nanny State. Hello, tyranny. Good-bye freedom, liberty, and America.
Hey Obama voters, is this the “change” you voted for?

Obama is Worried about Deficits NOW?
Obama to Shift Focus to Budget Deficit
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING! I am now wrapping my head with duct tape. Get yours out, you are going to need it…
Hey, Obama, what about the bill you just passed! The government cannot think America is this uninformed, inattentive, or stupid. The government must be enormously arrogant or just plain blind with power at this point. As I have said, I thought the Democrats would overreach and destroy themselves with their overwhelming Liberal (Socialist) polices, but I thought it would years—not weeks!
Now, let’s put this in context. Obama and the Democratic Congress just passed a $787 billion “Spendulous” Bill. The Republicans, leading economists, and the majority of the American people were screaming don’t do it, because it would drive up the National debt. Everyone knows debt is BAD. The debt would destroy the economy and laden future generations with incalculable debt.
Uh…the debt is a budget deficit, right? But, Obama just said he wants to "start" to focus on debty. So, why work on it later when you can do something now and fix the bill that is creating the debt in the first place. Mr. President, it is still sitting on your desk without your signature.
I guess I need to get out the Obama’s Oxford Dictionary, because apparently he defines deficit and debt differently than rest of the world. I guess Obama defines stimulus differently too, but I digress. So, after passing the largest bill in world history, Obama realizes that he needs to control the deficit now. Isn’t this backwards? Fix the current BILL!
For example on Right Voices, the following list is only SOME of what is in the Stimulus Bill:
-$2 billion earmark for FutureGen near zero emissions power plant in Mattoon, IL
-$39 billion slush fund for “state fiscal stabilization” bailout
-$5.5 billion for making federal buildings “green” (including $448 million for DHS HQ)
-$200 million for workplace safety in USDA facilities
-$275 million for flood prevention
-$65 million for watershed rehabilitation
-$200 million for public computer centers at community colleges and libraries
-$650 million for the DTV transition coupon program
-$307 million for constructing NIST office buildings
-$1 billion for administrative costs and construction of NOAA office buildings
-$100 million for constructing U.S. Marshals office buildings
-$300 million for constructing FBI office buildings
-$800 million for constructing Federal Prison System buildings and facilities
-$10 million to fight Mexican gunrunners
-$1.3 billion for NASA (including $450 million for “science” at NASA)
-$100 million to clean up sites used in early U.S. atomic energy program
-$10 million for urban canals
-$2 billion for manufacturing advanced batteries for hybrid cars
-$1.5 billion for carbon capture projects under sec. 703 of P.L. 110-140 (though section only authorizes $1 billion for five years)
-$300 million for hybrid and electric cars for federal employees
-$198 million to design and furnish the DHS headquarters
-$255 million for “priority procurements” at Coast Guard (polar ice breaker)
-$500 million for State and local fire stations
-$180 million for construction of Bureau of Land Management facilities
-$500 million for wild land fire management
-$110 million for construction for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
-$522 million for construction for the Bureau of Indian Affairs
-$650 million for abandoned mine sites
-$75 million for the Smithsonian Institution
-$1.2 billion for summer jobs for youth
-$412 million for CDC headquarters
-$500 million earmark for NIH facilities in Bethesda, MD (THIS IS FOR THE TRAITOR SENATOR SPECTER)
-$160 million for “volunteers” at the Corp. for National and Community Service
-$750 earmark for the National Computer Center in MD
-$224 million for International Boundary and Water Commission – U.S. and Mexico
-$850 million for Amtrak
-$100 million for lead paint hazard reduction
I just added this list up on my trusty calculator. (Yes, it had enough space—barely!) Just what is on THIS list is over $12.4 billion of PORK! Not Stimulus. Not job creation. It is just a waste of OUR money.
Furthermore, in the Fox News article:
“…White House budget director Peter R. Orszag has committed to instituting tougher budget-discipline rules -- once the economy turns around. Those include a mandate that any "nonemergency" spending increases be offset by equal spending cuts or tax increases.”
First, this is just another promise Obama will break. If anything, he is good at that. Sorry, I digressed again. Hey, here is some common sense, Mr. President, don’t spend all of THIS money in the first place! Why cut the PORK later. Do it now!
This is why we are in the economic mess in the first place—spending money we don’t have and running up debt! Ask any of the banks and companies that are bankrupt today. They will tell you.
Get your duct tape ready. Here is some more perspective that will make YOUR head explode:
“Federal obligations exceed world GDP”
The sub headline “Does $65.5 trillion terrify anyone yet?” SHOULD terrify everyone!
These tax and spend Liberals are going to spend the country into oblivion and then raise EVERYONE'S taxes to pay for it. White House budget director Peter R. Orszag just said they would raise taxes. Gee...there goes another one of Obama's promises. It is the only way the U.S. will stay solvent in the following years. Printing money and borrowing it from other countries (China) can only create some of this. Raising taxes on the rich and corporations won’t pay for this either. They will have to come after the middle-class and eventually the lower class to pay for this spending spree. By the time they are done, the Democrats will be giving entitlements with one hand to the poor and taking it from EVERYONE in taxes with other. If this is not a ponzi scheme, I don’t know what it is.
I guess, I need to find my Obama’s Oxford Dictionary again and find his definition of “screwed,” because that is what we are in my book.

Obamanomics' Raw Deal
President Barack Obama spoke to us for an hour the other night. U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner spoke the next day. Together, they have presented two polices that not only will destroy our economy in future years but has affected us immediately, as the stock market has shown us with over a 380 point loss. Between the two plans created by “them,” they are going to spend TRILLONS of dollars to save our economy. Past history shows this will not work. I will tell it will not work. I am not economist, politician, or a professor. I am a regular person with common sense, a library card, and the ability to read. I can figure this out along with so many others who have just has much knowledge.
Obama and Geithner are going to do what Jimmy Carter, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Herbert Hoover did when the economy began to go into a recession. They are going to raise government spending, increase governmental involvement, and, eventually, raise taxes. These policies have NEVER worked.
Obama said that the policies of FDR were settled years ago and asked why people were reviving them. Well… Obama revived the debate. He said he was going to be the “next” FDR. He has said he is going to use FDR’s economic model He said this is the worst economy since the “Great Depression.” (This is completely untrue, since the economic indicators show this is as bad as the mid 1980s before Reagan’s tax cuts took affect.) So, Obama revived the debate.
Then, a University of California 2004 study:
along with many other experts have proved that FDR’s economic policies in the 1930s prolonged the “Great Depression.” It has been proved that between Hoover’s constant meddling and FDR’s catastrophic governmental spending, they transformed a brief depression that rest of the world felt to the American “Great Depression.” Even FDR’s Secretary of Treasury Henry Morgenthau said that they had spent so much money and it did not help. Only when they started to balance the budget and cut spending is when the economy improved. Then it was not until after WWII and the end of much of the New Deal is when the economy officially recovered. So, it was not FDR and, now, the debate is settled. Not quite. Why? Because, Obama still wants to use FDR’s out-dated economic policies.
The insane part of Obama/Geithner’s plans is that they are the New Deal times 10 or even time 100. Simple common sense then states that the result would be 10 to 100 times what they were in the 1930s. Therefore, Obama/Geithner are going to create the “Great Depression” again but much more worse through naïve and arrogant policies.
So, what should we do? Obama says people are saying do nothing. On the contrary, there is a lot the government can, should, and must do to insure the well being of the U. S. economy. It is sad that this needs to be mentioned as the preface of this debate in America, but, first, Obama/Geithner must promote free market principles. Our government must advance freedom and liberty in our own country. This stimulates the economy. It creates wealth, not just money, but a wealth of new ideas. The government must limit its meddling (regulations) to free the people to do what they know what to do—create wealth—which creates endless capital, jobs, and prosperity. The government is the problem—not the people, corporations, or capitalism. Socialism is the problem.
So, let’s take some examples from history to prove this point further. Yes, the same history that shows that Obama/Geithner’s policies do not work does show us policies that do. First, we have President Warren G. Harding, yes, he was a President. After Woodrow Wilson left office in 1921, our economy collapsed just as catastrophically as in 1929. Instead of doing what Hoover and Roosevelt would do 10 years later (meddle), Harding cut taxes and limited government spending. And…did nothing else. Remember the crash was worse than 1929. The “recession” lasted a year and the Roaring 20s were born. It did not become a lost decade as the “Great Depression” became. Then in the 60s, John Kennedy cut taxes in which continued the economic growth generated by Eisenhower’s policies. This unprecedented prosperity continued until Nixon and Carter adopted the Keynesian model (government spending to spur economic growth.) Nixon and Carter’s policies crushed our economic growth and brought upon the stagflation of the 70s. Strange… it did not work? Then Ronald Reagan came in the 80s and cut taxes and limited government regulations (meddling) again, which created the longest peacetime economic growth in America history.
See…there is a trend that any regular person with common sense, a library card or the Internet, and the ability to read can see. There is plenty for Obama/Geithner to do. If you cut taxes, limit government spending, and limit the government meddling, the economy recovers on its own. It “naturally” does this according to simple economic principles that Adam Smith described in the 1770s. These principles have and always will work. History shows time and time again that Keynesian economics does not work. It has NEVER worked.
There are more and more people, agencies, and experts warning what Obama/Geithner’s polices will do to our country and economy—how it will crush long term growth, any immediate recovery and cost American jobs. More people are saying this could bring on something worse than the “Great Depression.” More people are now against it that are for it—less than 30% of American approve of these policies. It seems only Congress and the White House is for them at this point.
As the stimulus (spendulous) bill passes through Congress, the stock market crashes, and gold sales skyrocket, Obama/Geithner are, in essence, watching Rome burn and playing a violin. Nero is somewhere smiling. See… as Albert Einstein said, “Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” They are doing what has never worked expecting different results. They are insane, ignorant, or arrogant, or worse, have other plans that we would be all to afraid to think of—that they intend to make us so dependent on the government that we have no other choice but keep relinquishing of freedom, liberty, and “property” so we can attempt to live our every day lives.
Are they just solidifying their power and control?
Insane or ingenious, what say you?
