Democrats Disorts Firearm Stats to Ban Assault Weapons

Holder and Clinton in the past few weeks have brought up reinstituing the assault weapon ban. They are using the violence on the border that they have ignored for years until now, because they can use it for their political advantage.

They claim that U.S. are at fault for this violence and that weapons are coming from the U.S. A statistic has been floated that 90% of Mexican weapons come from the U.S.

Again, in order for the Left to have reality fit in their ideology , they must lie and distort facts. Actually, the fact is, only 17 % of guns found at Mexican crime scenes have been traced to the U.S.

They are making this crisis up just as an excuse to take the citizens’ firearms.

Here is the story from Fox News. Also, hat tip Conservative Scalawag.

Illegal Immigrants are Counted in the Census

Democrats have pushed illegal immigration without any thought of what is does to our infrastructure and public services. Illegal immigration is bankrupting Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. It is overwhelming our schools, healthcare systems, and judicial systems. At times, it seems the Left has promoted illegal immigration as a weapon against the American culture that they hate to purposely destroy it.

But, now it now has become apparent why the Democrats have been doing everything they can to encourage illegal immigration and protect them after they get here. In the census, illegal immigrates are included. Yes, that is right, they count and can without being here being a legal resident and can affect how Congressional districts are proportioned.

This redistricting can affect how the party strongholds are divided and can affect Congressional policy. Illegal immigrants can benefit themselves by simply being here and be counted.

To make this even more outrageous, the census bureau is not only going to use ACORN but also other “community organizations” to assist them to properly count everyone. I bet they will be fair and be sure it is done correctly.

Here is another reason we need to fix illegal immigration. We need to enforce the current laws, which we are not. We need to patrol to border, which they do not have enough resources. We need to change the law, so that if you are born here from illegal immigrants you do not become a citizen. We need to deport all violators. It is that simple.

We do this to protect our culture, our society, our citizens, and our nation before it is all gone.

Democrat Admits Cap and Trade Intentionally Increases Energy Prices

Democrats are now so bold that they just utter their Socialist agenda without hiding it. Before they would create some program with an alternative agenda, but now they just tell us what they are going to do. It is arrogant and tyrannical. There is a bright side. At least, they are being more honest.

For example, the Democrats presented the “Spendulous” Bill as a stimulus when in actuality it did not stimulate anything. It was political pay offs to Liberal cronies, like unions and ACORN.

Now, a Congressman has just spelled out what Cap and Trade is really for, to drive up energy prices and force Americans to choose green energy. We knew that! But, it is nice to see that they are being honest about it now.

One problem. The green technology to replace our current energy, coal and natural gas, is not viable yet. Wind, solar, and geo-thermal is neither as efficient nor cost effective enough yet. In many areas, it is not even available and may not be able to be available.

So, the government is intentionally driving the price of energy up to compel us to other energy alternatives that do not work and may not exist. This is typical of government, no clue about unintended consequences. It is obvious Liberals cannot see past the end of their noses.

This is not going to drive Americans to alternative energy. It is going to drive the cost of energy, such as natural gas, coal, electricity, gasoline, heating oil, diesel, jet fuel, etc. This is going to drive the cost of everything up. Not only will we have to pay exorbitant taxes, but this policies is going to cause inflation, since energy prices directly affects products and services.

Now, the wealthy and a few others will be able to handle this excessive taxation and costly changes; however this directly negatively affects the poor, working class, minorities, and others who voted for Democrats.

I will say it again. Is the “change” you voted for?

Here is the story from CNSNews.com:

(CNSNews.com) - Government policy should be crafted to raise the price of carbon-emitting energy sources so consumers are compelled to choose alternative energy, House Democratic Conference Chairman John Larson (D-Conn.) told CNSNews.com on Thursday.

Larson agreed that such a policy would likely result in higher electricity prices for consumers but said this is needed to protect the environment from the possible “catastrophic results” of not implementing a pro-green energy policy.

Some Republicans who spoke with CNSNews.com at the Capitol agreed that electricity prices would go up, and they dismissed President Barack Obama’s cap-and-trade plan as little more than a large tax on energy producers, the cost of which is passed onto consumers.

With cap and trade, the amount of carbon an energy company can emit is capped. If it exceeds that limit, the company can purchase credits (“trade”) that would go towards investment in green or alternative energy firms.

“I think the government should serve as an impetus to do so, because as I said at the outset, not doing anything -- the catastrophic results that can come from that – are what drives this issue,” Larson told CNSNews.com when asked if boosting electricity prices through government policy to drive consumers to green energy was a good idea.

“We ought to do it in a way that both enhances our economy and our economic opportunity and also preserves the universe and the earth,” said Larson.

At a press conference Tuesday, Obama told reporters that a good cap-and-trade system for carbon emissions should be designed to “protect consumers from huge spikes in electricity prices.”

"I think cap-and-trade is the best way, from my perspective, to achieve some of those gains, because what it does is it starts pricing the pollution that's being sent into the atmosphere,” Obama said.

"The way it's structured, it has to take into account regional differences. It has to protect consumers from huge spikes in electricity prices. So there are a -- a lot of technical issues that are going to have to be sorted through," he added.

But in an interview with the San Francisco Chronicle back on Jan. 17, 2008, then-candidate Obama said his plan for cap and trade would tax every unit of carbon emitted, which would in turn create an expanded market for new technologies.

“I was the first to call for a 100% auction on the cap-and-trade system, which means that every unit of carbon or greenhouse gases emitted would be charged to the polluter,” said Obama.

“That will create a market in which whatever technologies are out there that are being presented, whatever power plants that are being built, that they would have to meet the rigors of that market and the ratcheted down caps that are being placed, imposed every year.”

Eventually, these taxes would ruin the U.S. coal industry, added Obama. “So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can,” said Obama. “It's just that it will bankrupt them because they're going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that's being emitted.”

Republicans said that Obama’s plan to cap and trade carbon emissions would result in a massive tax hike on the companies and American consumers who have to pay for energy to heat and light their homes, and drive their cars, and to run myriad aspects of their daily lives.

“Of course” Obama’s plan will drive up energy costs, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) told CNSNews.com. “The president’s proposal is unacceptable, because it’s just being used as a source of revenue.”

Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio) told CNSNews.com: “Of course the cost is going to rise. When people think of cap and trade, they are going to think of a giant tax increase.”

Larson also said he is concerned about “what happens down the food chain.”

“My concern specifically is what happens down the food chain, so to speak, to the consumer who ultimately bears the cost,” he said. “I think that no matter what we do, I have to be in favor of a carbon-tax approach, because I think that it just levels with people right from the outset. But I believe completely in passing the savings back down the stream to have an impact on the consumer.”

We Should Love the Rich

With the vilifying of the AIG executives, something came to mind. Why does the Democratic Party demonize the wealthy? What is so wrong with people with money?

Before the 1930s, the wealthy were venerated. They were the people who created these great empires of wealth and contributed to society in countless ways. They donated huge sums of money to universities, churches, and health causes. They founded universities, private philanthropic organizations, and hospitals.

The wealthy founded influential companies and corporations that lead America to global prominence. They invented products, processes, and whole industries that became the cornerstone of America. They started the companies that provided steel, railroads, automobile, chemicals, energy, lumber, banking, and on and on without governmental help. They took insurmountable risks and Capitalism rewarded them.

Then, they reciprocated their vast wealth back to society, not because it was a tax write off or because they were forced to, but because they felt it was their duty. It was good for the public interest. It was the right thing to do. These great men of industry had honor. I would say they still do.

Now, I am not a fan of Wikipedia but the list of Robber Barons serves its purpose here. The list is just a small list of men that founded great industries and companies in America. Their legacies are mentioned as well. Carnegie, Rockefeller, and Vanderbilt are the well-known names but there are so many others. Think of your town and the streets and neighborhoods named after these men. Schools, buildings, and hospital wings are named for the wealthy as well. The list goes on and on. These men provide so much to their communities and America without being ask, but because they thought that they should.

When you look at another aspect, there is even more the wealthy provide. First, they employ workers and pay them competitive wages. This provides endless benifits to the society at large. These businesses provide goods and services used all around the world that aid the public interest. They purchase the products and services that start at a high prices, but as they purchase them, they drive down the prices so the less fortunate can afford them. Think of how plasma TVs, computers, hybrid cars, DVD players, etc. came down in price as these goods made it through society. The wealthy made this possible.

The point here is that the rich provide so much to our society and they are vilified. Why?

In the 1930s during the Great Depression, FDR used the wealthy to get elected and started something called class warfare. He used the same political tactic that Hitler, Mussolini, and Lenin used to take power.

They all vilified the have’s (wealthy, landowners, and/or businessmen) and won the votes or the support of the have not’s (poor, workers, farmers.) By splitting the society on the false premise that wealth is limited and playing these groups off each other, these leaders said they would take from the have’s and give to the have not’s, since there is only so much to go around. With the society splitting their votes and support, these leaders were elected or supported by the minority.

Gee, sound familiar? Look at what Obama and the Democrats are doing today.

This class warfare by FDR changed how America looked at their wealthy class forever. No longer were they worshipped but now characterized as greedy, ruthless, and dishonorable, even though they were not. Wealth was no longer look as unlimited and boundless, but as a limited resource that had a finite value. This was and is still completely false.

Look at Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, or Jim Walton. These men provide great products or services to the world and donate huge sums of money to countless causes. Yet, they are vilified for their greatest sin, wealth. Keep in mind, Abraham, David, Solomon, and Jesus to name just a few were extremely wealthy men from the Bible. I am quite sure they were not sinning and vilified for it.

As a side note, wealth is not a sin. Envy (covetness) is. That is what all this class warfare is. Think about it.

To this day, the Democrats use this Marxist tactic to create divisions in America to gain power. The have not’s fall for it every time, not realizing they are killing the golden goose. The wealthy provides jobs, services, most of the tax revenue, most of the donations to philanthropies, and countless other things for the common good of society. Most importantly, they create and generate wealth for the rest of us to use, earn, and aspire to.

So, the next time the Democrats start playing this Marxist game, remember that the rich provide jobs, services, products, wealth, and on and on to society. The government and the Democrats do the exact opposite. They ALWAYS destroy it.

Democrats are Supporting Gun Rights

As I have shown in recent posts, the Democrat Party is fracturing under the pressure from their constituents. The moderate Democrats cannot follow the radical agenda of the Obama/Pelosi/Reid.

Recently, Democrats have split due to Cap and Trade (Democrats Revolt Expands) and healthcare reform (Nationalization). The moderates want these issues properly debated and not rammed through Congress. Now, there is another issue that has the moderates splitting from their leadership. Gun rights.

On NewsMax, “Pro-Gun Democrats Oppose New Assault Weapon Ban” explains how 65 House Democrats won’t support to revive an assault weapons ban.

“The pro-gun Democrats, led by Rep. Mike Ross, D-Ark., wrote Attorney General Eric Holder that they would "actively oppose any effort to reinstate the 1994 ban, or to pass any similar law.

They urged the administration to avoid a "long and divisive fight over a gun control issue" at a time when Washington needs to concentrate on the economic crisis.”

So, Conservatives can thank Democrats for trying to save our right own and bear arms. Yes, that is right. Democrats. The Republicans have limited power in the House. With the moderate Democrats, Republicans are finding allies who are fiscal conservatives and now supporting gun rights.

So, if you live in these pro-gun Democrats’ districts, be sure to write them and support them, because they are going to get battered from the Democrat leadership.

The right to bear arms is an essential right. The Second Amendment is for us to protect all of rights and freedoms and to protect ourselves.

As Thomas Jefferson said,

"No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"-- Thomas Jefferson, 1 Thomas Jefferson Papers, 334

The government fears a well-armed citizenry and it should. We have this right in order to keep our government in check.

The other reason we have the right is to protect ourselves. The United States Supreme Court said the government is not directly responsible to protect the citizens in such a way that they are liable for harm done to you.

In other words, if someone breaks into your house and you call the police. By the time, they arrive you are shot. You cannot sue the police for liability, since they did not protect you. The Court said the citizens are responsible for protecting themselves, not the government.

How else can we do this with such heavily armed criminals but with our own firearms.

Again, as Thomas Jefferson said,

“The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes....Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” —Thomas Jefferson's "Commonplace Book," 1774-1776, quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria in Chapter 40 of "On Crimes and Punishment", 1764.

So, support those Democrats fighting for our rights to own firearms and keep vigilant on the rights they are trying to take from us. There are reasons we have them and reasons why they are trying to take them.

Democrats Revolt Expands

On the Drudge Report, this story, “8 Dems oppose quick debate on global warming bill,” expands on my post from yesterday “Unhappy Moderate Democrats Begin to Revolt.”

More cracks are forming in the Democrat Party. These eight Democrats oppose the use of Senate rules to fast track the debate on “Cap and Trade.”

The article explains cap and trade somewhat and does a great job on explaining Senate rules.

In the article, the following was said:

“Enactment of a cap-and-trade regime is likely to influence nearly every feature of the U.S. economy," wrote the Democratic senators, mostly moderates. They were joined by 25 Republicans. "Legislation so far-reaching should be fully vetted and given appropriate time for debate.

The Democrats who signed the letter, addressed to the chairman and top Republican on the Senate Budget Committee, were: Robert Byrd, W.Va.; Blanche Lincoln, Ark.; Mary Landrieu, La.; Carl Levin, Mich.; Evan Bayh, Ind.; Ben Nelson, Neb.; Bob Casey Jr., Pa.; and Mark Pryor, Ark.”

As mentioned yesterday, the Obama/Pelosi/Reid agenda is upsetting the People, and the People are pressuring their Congressmen. The Congressmen are breaking from the radical Democrats to save their careers. They have their own consistencies and their own political careers to think about. The People do have a voice and their polticians are beginning to listen.

Another Democrat has slowed down more of the radical agenda. It has been speculated that the Democrats want to use the same fast track rules for healthcare reform, but Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., opposes that idea.

So, Obama/Pelosi/Reid are trying to transform America, but ironically, they have met opposition at every turn from their own party moderates.

Unhappy Moderate Democrats Begin to Revolt

On NewsMax, there is this story, “Obama Faces Revolt From His Own Party.” Apparently, the Obama/Pelosi/Reid agenda does not set well with the entire party.

"Democrats also have more moderate and more conservatives in their ranks and more issues that will divide them," said Andrew Taylor, a political science professor at North Carolina State University. "It's the cost of doing business."

This quote shows that these radical policies are beating up the Blue Dogs and other more moderate Democrats. In order for them to get re-elected or at least to get their phones to stop ringing needs to distance themselves from of the most racial ideas. Cap and Trade is one along with Card Check.

If you consider the united Republican House and partially united Republican Senate and add some of these moderate Democrats, Obama’s agenda has a serious problem. He loses the filibuster proof Senate and the House becomes more difficult to pass bills as well. This means that these policies will need to be trimmed down and moderated for them to pass.

There is another problem these radical ideas and this revolt. As the policies began to fail, there won’t be any political cover for the Liberal Democrats. If the moderates bail on the Liberals and the Republicans stay united, there won’t be one conservative or moderate Congressmen name on any of these bills or policies. The political fallout for the Liberals in Congress will be enormous. They could not blame anyone but themselves. They will try but won’t be able to explain it away as in the past. They could lose large number of seats in 2010 and have their radical policies only to blame.

So, we need to keep pressuring our Congressmen that we are not happy with what is transpiring in Washington. It is working and we need not to let up. We may not be able to do anything about Obama until 2012, but we can make it hell for him while he is here.

Law of the Sea Treaty Threatens our Sovereignty

Senate Democrats are not wasting another crisis. They are using the China naval confrontation to resurrect the Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST). This treaty turns over U.S. jurisdiction of the coasts and waterways over to the United Nations.

The treaty has been around since the 1970s and has not received enough support in the Senate until now. Senator John Kerry is pushing this along with Hillary Clinton to have it ratified.

On Fox News, “LOST and Found: Senate Moves Toward Ratification of U.N.'s 'Law of the Sea Treaty” has the two statements below that should concern the U.S.

“LOST apportions "Exclusive Economic Zones" that stretch 200 miles from a country's coast and establishes the International Seabed Authority to administer the communal territory farther out. The treaty's proponents say it clears up a murky legal area that has prevented companies from taking advantage of the deep seas' wealth.

But critics say clauses built into the treaty could directly harm American interests. They say it could force the U.S. to comply with unspecified environmental codes, and that the treaty gives environmental activists the legal standing to sue over river pollution and shut down industry, simply because rivers feed into the sea.”

We lose control of these areas to the U.N. and some bureaucracy in Germany. So, in essence, a factory in St. Louis can be sued for pollution it produces that may be released into the Mississippi River. What does this do to oil drilling? What about businesses in Pittsburg, Minneapolis, or any business on any waterway in the U.S.?

This treaty is a direct threat to our sovereignty and our lawful use of American waterways and coasts. This is another misconceived policy of the Democrats that has innumerous unintended consequences that would harm the U.S. in countless ways.

Obama owns this recession

The stock market continues its slide through the 6000s to the 5000s. Unemployment is soaring. Consumer confidence is plummeting. Housing prices are decreasing and foreclosures are increasing. And…the Democrats and Obama are blaming Bush. Nice try but that will not work for much longer.

In October of 2006, the stock market was in the 14,000s! Consumer confidence was above 70%. Gas and energy prices were stable and average. Interest rates were low. Housing sales were high. Housing values were soaring. Foreclosures were below 5%. Unemployment was below 6%. Durable goods sales were increasing. Car sales were good. The list goes on and on of all the positive aspects of the Bush and Republican economy. So, what happened?

In November 2006, the Democrats took over Congress. Soon after that, they raised the minimum wage, which always creates an increase in unemployment. They said they would not make the Bush tax cuts permanent. This sent a message to most Americans who pay taxes that they will be getting a tax increase in 2010, which created an uncertainty in the economy. Then, the gas prices started to soar which put pressure on the entire economy. The Democrats would not lessen the restrictions on oil drilling, which would have decreased the price of oil, and the prices soared to record highs. This hurt the economy at all levels.

Then, Republicans, Bush, and Greenspan warned the Democrats about the instability in the housing market and Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. They started the warning in 2007 and 2008. The Democrats, Barney Frank, and Christopher Dodd all said that the institutions were fine and pushed them to take on more home loans. This, of course, caused them to collapse in 2008, when homeowners could not afford their homes after the their adjusted rate mortgages started to go up. Foreclosures soared. As Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae collapsed, it caused a domino affect of bank failures in banking systems across the world. This was the catalyst to the economic problems we are in today. Notice no Republican caused it. They warned to stop it.

Then, when Obama took the lead in the primary the stock market began to decline. Then, the housing market crashed. The stock market continued to decline. Obama won the primary and the stock market slid further. As Obama’s poll numbers increased, the stock market did the opposite. As Obama made speeches and laid out his policies, the economy sunk further directly reacting to his economic plans. Business people did not want high taxes, more regulations, and his other plans.

The Democratic Congress passed TARP and the bailouts began. Then, Obama won the election and the markets continued their slide.

Since the inauguration, Obama has passed a Stimulus Bill, a home foreclosure plan, and submitted a budget full of tax increases and excessive spending. What has happened? The stock market has lost at least $2 trillion dollars and 30% of it value. And, since the Democrats took power in 2006, the stock market has lost over 70% of its value.

This entire decline in the economy is a direct response to the Democrat’s policies. Since becoming President, Obama has talked down the economy. He has declared there is crisis, a catastrophe. His new budget with its tax increases is an out right declaration of war on the wealth of this nation, on small businesses, and investors. The market responded with further declines.

At this point, it is intellectually dishonest and borderline insane to say that the Democrats do not have culpability in the recession. Bush has his hands dirty too. Yes, he started the bailouts, but Obama is continuing them. Obama is raising taxes steeply in a recession, which is what Hoover and FDR did. This was one of the direct causes of the “Great Depression.” Hoover and FDR did not know what would happen. Obama doesn’t have that excuse. He has history to show him what to do and he is doing the exact opposite.

So, the economy slips further and further toward a depression. Obama owns this economy now. It is evident when he speaks or institutes a policy the stock market declines and companies layoff workers. If his speeches and policies were what investors and business people wanted to hear and worked, the market would be going up, not down.

So, blaming Bush does not work anymore. Obama’s policies are taking hold on the economy and affecting it at all levels. The stock market is plummeting, unemployment is soaring, foreclosures have soared, and consumer confidence is declining. Bush did not ask for higher taxes or make speeches saying the economy is in crisis. Obama did.

You broke it, Obama. You own it. Not Bush.
